A fun relaxing evening for all!

Another Jericho Underhill Food Hub Community Dinner was held January 7th, 2026 at Mount Mansfield Union High School in Jericho.

It was a huge success!

200 community members were served a free, delicious dinner of white chicken chili, butternut-apple-ginger soup, vegetable pasta bake, salad, sourdough bread, and pumpkin pie bars.

Delightful jazz music was provided by students from Mount Mansfield attracting quite a fan club!

When asked what they liked best about being there, we received lots of great feedback from community members who were there:

  • "Great way to socialize and support community"

  • "Fabulous Food"

  • "First one I've been to.  It's very efficient and relaxed atmosphere."

  • "Great to see folks I know and meet new people.  It makes me love my town!"

  • "...Awareness of local businesses and makers; Raffle is a cool idea!  The band! Great vibe overall!"

Many of the ingredients for the meal were donated by local farms, including:

  • Bone Mountain Farm

  • Chamberlin’s Farm

  • Jericho Settlers Farm

  • The Farm Upstream

  • Valley Dream Farm

  • Wild Hearth Sourdough Co.

A raffle of items during the meal was well received and some great prizes were taken home!  Thanks to these local farmers and makers for generously supplying prizes:

  • Birch Hill Sugar Works

  • Bird and Bee Native Plants

  • Boheme Botanika Apothecary

  • Chamberlin’s Farm

  • Covered Bridge Blueberry Farm

  • Davis Farm

  • Jericho Settlers Farm

  • Moose Mountain Maple

  • MT Creek Apiary

  • Settlement Farm

  • The Farm Upstream

  • Valley Dream Farm

Many thanks go to the over 40 volunteers who helped with cooking, setup, serving, and cleanup.

Special thanks to the JU Food Hub Community Meal Committee: Deanna Bartlett, Anne Clift, Jason Crooks, Lisa Hoare, and Chantal O’Connor, who put in so much time organizing to make this a flawless event.

Sincere appreciation also goes to MMU who opened their doors to host the event, especially to Pat who knows everything about the MMU kitchen and stayed late to help clean and close things up.

We also thank the Garden of Eatin’ Cafe and the United Church of Underhill for various foods and equipment use.

Donations from attendees were enough to cover the next JU Food Hub Community Meal, which is planned for August 2026.

Be on the lookout for announcements and definitely plan to join us to eat, volunteer or both!
